Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been appointed the new Health and Human Services secretary after being confirmed by the Senate. This new position will certainly bring a number of changes.
In his speeches, JFK Jr. has highlighted that nutrition is the key element of health. With that said, his priorities are the reduction of “the dominance of ultra-processed foods” and the removal of “food additives and chemicals.”

Asked by Fox News host Laura Ingraham which food additives he’d effectively remove from the US, JFK Jr. argued that he won’t outright ban any because of the “freedom of choice.”
“If you want to eat Twinkies, you ought to be able to eat them,” he said.
He, however, promised to introduce “radical transparency” in informing the public about food ingredients and their health impacts.
