A young man, Luigi Mangione, aged 26, found himself in the spotlight when he was formally charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, who was the CEO of a prominent American health insurance company.
This event caught significant media attention, particularly because Mangione proclaimed a message while being escorted into the courthouse.

Among the charges Luigi Mangione faces are murder, possessing an illegal firearm, forgery, and presenting false identification to the police.
As he was being taken into the Blair County Courthouse in Pennsylvania on December 10, Mangione didn’t shy away from the waiting reporters.
As reported by Sky News, he boldly declared, “It’s completely out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people and their lived experience.” However, his statement was cut short as officers hurried him inside.
The case against Mangione involves a chilling detail: the ammunition used in the crime had the phrase ‘deny, defend, depose’ engraved on it. Investigators later found a backpack, presumed to be Mangione’s, that was packed with Monopoly money, adding another layer of intrigue to the case.
When Mangione was arrested by law enforcement, additional items were discovered. Authorities from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections revealed that they found a collection of written papers on him, which included what looked like a handwritten manifesto.
